How to move from Rose (Consignor Connect) to ResaleOS

The short version: you don't have to do this. Our team moves Rose shops to ResaleOS for you. Rose runs on top of Square, which makes this one of the easiest moves we do: your items, photos and sales are already in your Square account, so you connect Square with one click and they arrive on their own. The only thing Rose holds that Square doesn't is your consignors, and that comes across from one report. You're taking sales on ResaleOS by lunch, and your Square register keeps ringing the whole time.

The easy way — let us do it

Book a free 15-minute call. We'll walk you through it together: you connect your Square account to ResaleOS (one click, Square asks you to approve it), you add one of our team members to Rose, and we do everything else — every consignor, every split, every balance, every payout, every item linked back to the person who owns it. Free with any paid ResaleOS plan, and you don't have to learn a single technical thing.

1

Book a free 15-minute call

Pick a quiet morning that works for you. Mondays and Tuesdays before the shop gets busy are best. You don’t need to prepare anything.

On the call we'll ask a few easy questions: roughly how many consignors you have, whether you ring every sale through Square, and whether you want your full sales history or just what's on the floor today. That's it.

2

Connect Square, then add us to Rose

Two small things on your side, about two minutes total. We stay on the call with you for both.

In ResaleOS: Settings → Sales channels → Square → Connect.

Square opens a page asking you to approve ResaleOS. Click Allow. That's the whole step — every item in your Square catalog, with its photos, prices and SKUs, starts importing straight away. This is the one part we can't do for you, because Square insists the owner approves it.

In Rose: add a new staff user for us.

Type the username we give you and any short password. Give the user access to Reports. Then tell us your Rose company name — the short one you typed when you signed up for Rose, not your shop's display name. Rose staff users sign in through the “Use company login?” link with company, username and password, so we need all three.

Please don't give us your own password. Always add us as a new user. That way you can see exactly what we did, and you can remove us with one click when we're done.

3

Have coffee while we do the work

A real person on our team — not a script — pulls the reports out of Rose and brings everything across. You can keep going about your morning.

Here's what comes across, with no input from you:

  • Every item in your Square catalog, with its photos, price, SKU and stock. Straight from Square, so nothing is retyped.
  • Every consignor from Rose's Contract List, keeping their Rose contract number as their account number, with their contact details, split and the exact balance you owe them today.
  • Every item linked back to its consignor. Rose stamps the contract number into each Square item's name, and we use that to join the two. Store-owned stock stays store-owned.
  • Every payout you've ever made, dated, per consignor.
  • Your full sales history by consignor — what sold, when, for how much, and what each consignor earned on it — as far back as Rose has it.
  • Any fees you charge consignors, so each balance adds up the same way it did in Rose.

We'll send you a quick text or email when we're ready for you. Usually around lunchtime.

4

Hop back on a call — we check the numbers together

We put your Rose numbers and your new ResaleOS numbers side by side. You confirm they match. Then you remove our user, and you’re live.

We check five things with you, on screen:

  • Total number of consignors
  • Total dollars you owe consignors today (Rose's Contract Balances)
  • Total number of items, against your Square catalog
  • How many items are linked to a consignor
  • Your year-to-date sales

Each of those should match Rose exactly. If anything looks off, we fix it before you go live — nothing leaves this call until you're happy.

Once you say “looks good”, you go back into Rose and remove our user. You're now live on ResaleOS. Your Square register keeps working exactly as before — each sale it rings flows into ResaleOS and credits the right consignor.

Not ready to switch fully? That's fine.

Because both Rose and ResaleOS read from the same Square account, you can keep Rose as your main system for a week or two while you get comfortable. Sales keep landing in both. When you're ready to switch fully, we do a quick top-up of your consignor balances on a Sunday night and you open Monday morning on ResaleOS. You never have a day where the shop is offline.

Or, if you'd rather do it yourself

The self-serve version, in plain English

Some shop owners like doing things themselves — totally fair. Rose exports every report as a CSV file, and our importer recognises each one on sight, so there's no column matching to do. Plan on about an hour. You don't need to be technical; you just need a Rose login that can run reports.

A

Connect Square first

In ResaleOS, open Settings → Sales channels, pick Square, click Connect and approve it on the Square page that opens. Your whole Square catalog — items, photos, prices, SKUs, stock — imports on its own.

Do this before you upload anything from Rose. The consignor link in step D needs the items to already be in ResaleOS.

B

Export the reports from Rose as CSV

Sign in to Rose and open Reports. For each report below, set the output to CSV-FILE, run it, then open Rose's File Manager and click the download icon next to the file. Save them all to the same folder on your desktop.

The one you need

  • Financial → Contract List — every consignor with their contract number, contact details, split and the balance due today. In Rose a “contract” is a consignor.

Nice to have

  • Period → Detailed Paid Out Report — every payout, dated, per consignor. Set the date range to cover your whole time on Rose. If it won't run that wide, the Summary Paid Out by Consignor report works too (lifetime totals instead of dated payouts).
  • Period → Sales by Consignor — your sales history. Run it one year at a time; the full multi-year range produces a file Rose can't render properly.
  • Fee's Report — only if you charge consignors fees.

Skip the All Inventory report. Your items already came in from Square in step A, and Rose's inventory SKUs don't match the Square ones, so uploading it would only create duplicates. If you drop it in anyway, the importer politely ignores it.

Two Rose quirks. When setting a date range, click into the date field and pick the date from the calendar, then press OK — typing the date alone doesn't register. And run the Contract List last, after close, so the balances are the freshest snapshot you have.

C

Photos: nothing to do

Rose keeps item photos in Square, so whatever photos your items have in Square arrived with them in step A. Items that never had a photo in Square won't have one here either — ResaleOS's AI catalog will help you add them as you next handle each piece.

D

Upload the CSVs — or send them to us

Upload them yourself

Sign in to ResaleOS and open the one-page importer. Pick Rose (Consignor Connect) as your current software, then drag every CSV from your folder in together. The importer recognises each Rose report by name — no column matching, no mapping screen. Click Import.

When the import finishes, ResaleOS goes through your Square items and links each one to its consignor using the contract number in the item's name. Items without a number stay store-owned.

Don't have a ResaleOS account yet? Create one in 30 seconds — card required at signup.

Or send them to us and we'll do it

Zip the folder first. On Windows: right-click the folder, choose Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder. On Mac: right-click the folder, choose Compress. You'll end up with one file ending in .zip.

Email it to info@resaleos.co with the subject line Rose migration. We run the consignor, payout and sales imports for you, check the consignor links, and reply when it's done — usually within a few hours. Same price (free), zero clicking on your end.

If the zip is too big for email, reply to our welcome email and we'll send a private upload link.

E

Either way, we hop on a quick call to check the numbers

Whether you uploaded yourself or sent the folder our way, we always finish with a short call to walk through ResaleOS and confirm your numbers match Rose exactly. We won't mark you as “live” until you're happy.

The questions we get asked most

How long does it take?

For most shops, a single morning. Connecting Square takes a minute, and the Contract List is one file. Shops that want many years of sales history sometimes take a full day — but the work is on us.

Do I keep using Square?

Yes. Square stays your register on day one — every sale it rings flows into ResaleOS and credits the right consignor. When you're ready, you can ring sales from ResaleOS's own POS with your Square reader instead, so consignor splits and receipts happen in one place.

Will my consignors notice?

They shouldn't. Their account number is their Rose contract number, their balance is the same, their items are the same. We can email each consignor about their new self-serve portal if you'd like — completely optional.

What if an item has no contract number in its name?

Rose adds the number when it pushes an item to Square, so most items have it. Items you built directly in Square without one stay store-owned. On the call we show you the list and fix the handful together, or you assign a consignor in bulk from the Products page.

What about item photos?

They live in Square, so they come across automatically the moment you connect. There's no separate photo export to chase.

Will my books still match?

Yes. We confirm the dollar amounts in ResaleOS match Rose to the penny before you go live — the balance on each consignor is exactly what the Contract List said. Your bookkeeper sees no surprises.

What if I get stuck?

We're a real team — call, email, or text us. We answer quickly. And we always do a follow-up call a few days after you're live to make sure the shop is running the way you want.

Ready when you are.
