Introduction to Account Settings

0:00 Okay, in this video, we're going to dive a little bit deeper into the consignor and account settings you can set on ResaleOS. There are a couple of things I forgot to mention in the last video when we were creating accounts on ResaleOS, which I'd like to start with.

Editing Account Types and IDs

0:19 One thing is about setting and specifying what type of an account you created, okay? So you can come over here and edit the account. And if the system did not assign a type of user, a type of account, or it assigned one but it's wrong, you can always come and edit the type of user that you created in the system over here. You can assign multiple fields, multiple labels, and you can always override what the system enters.

0:49 Also, we didn't go over creating an account ID. Every account has a specific ID. You can specify what ID you want for an account. So you can enter your own, okay? Or you can let the system create one by default. And if you want to let the system create one automatically, you can specify how the system creates it. So whether you want it to be a random number, whether you want it to start with a letter, and that kind of information, okay?

1:17 So I wanted to start from this because I forgot to mention it in my last video.

Default Account Settings and Commission Structures

1:22 And now let's go over the account settings. So let's go to settings and then consignor settings. And this is where we specify a lot of the default settings that are assigned to your accounts whenever you create one, okay? So we saw how you can assign a commission split. So whatever the store keeps after you sell an item for that vendor or consignor. You have a default split, which you can set over here, and you can create other ones,

1:50 other commission structures, which can be a flat commission structure. So just a 50% commission on all items. Or you can have a tiered one, like this one is, based on the price of the item, okay? So the commission changes based on what the price of the item is, okay? Over here, again, is where you create your different commission structures and you save some default ones, which you can then assign to your consignors.

Markdown Rules and Surcharges

2:20 Here you also create and assign markdown rules, okay? Which can also be tiered or can also be applied only to specific categories or specific items with certain tags or price ranges. You can have markdown rules to have a schedule. So every, you know, 30 days you add an additional markdown. And you can specify who absorbs the discount, whether it's the store, the consignor, or whether it's shared proportionally, and whether those price updates should only reflect for

2:54 your items on ResaleOS, or they should also reflect for the items posted on your external sales channels. So whether the markdown only happens on ResaleOS or also on the sales channels that the item is posted on, okay? These are markdown rules. There is a lot to them. You can specify them. You can come over here to explore all the options. And then surcharges and fees, we're going to dive deeper into surcharges because this

3:20 is a large topic later on. But basically this is where you come and specify them. They can be percentage or flat fees. You can specify who eats the surcharge and all that kind of stuff. And then consignment terms.

Consignment Terms and Contracts

3:31 So you can create and manage your terms over here. And we'll dive deeper into this as well. I don't want to touch too much on it now because, again, this is also a really rich feature which deserves its own video. But you can create your terms over here. You can specify what you want terms to include. Now we'll dive deeper later into the consignment terms. And terms are basically contracts, the contract that you have and that you request your consignors

4:00 or vendors to sign, okay? These are your consignor settings.

Custom Fields and Terminology

4:04 Let's go over fields and terms again over here. Because as I mentioned in my earlier video, you can specify the terminology that's used to label your accounts, whether you only want to use the default ones, consignor, vendor, supplier, and customer. Or you can add your own. So, for example, you know, estate liquidator. And you can add any custom ones which you can then assign to your accounts to easily recognize what type of an account you created.

4:35 You have the account ID format which I mentioned earlier at the beginning of this video. How do you want the account ID to be generated in the system? You have custom fields, okay? So you can add custom fields so that your accounts always require or anyways request this field to be completed. So, for example, we don't have a logo. We don't upload a logo or like profile image for our accounts by default, so we can create

5:07 this type of field for all accounts. So now I created a new custom field called profile image. What that means is that if we come to our dashboard and we create a new account, now there is this new custom field called profile image, which is a file upload that we just created in the system. So you can create as many custom fields as you want.

Customer Loyalty and Payout Settings

5:29 We have customer loyalty settings about reward points specifically where you can specify to create a reward point system to keep users coming back and reward them for purchasing with you. You can fully customize this to be X amount of points for every X dollar spent. And then you can specify what those points can be used for and what's their dollar value. And then again, here we have a section about consignment terms again, and we'll dive deeper

6:02 into that later. We also have settings about payouts. This will also be its own video, and you can specify what payout methods you allow, whether you charge a payout fee and whether that's a percentage or a flat fee, payout hold rules if you want to hold payouts, if you don't want to let a vendor or consigner be paid out too quickly in case you want to hold the funds for a little bit to make sure the sale is confirmed and it doesn't get canceled by the customer or that kind of scenario.

6:35 And then check printing, if you print your checks in store, okay? We'll dive deeper into the surcharges, the contract, and then the consigner portal as well in the later videos. I just wanted to show you settings and go over the remaining customization options, which we didn't cover in the previous video. All right, moving on to the next one.
