Introduction to Sales Channel Integration

0:00 All right, in this video, I'm going to cover something a little bit more tactical about exporting and crosslisting your products to your sales channels from ResaleOS, okay? So each sales platform has different policies. Some platforms have shipping policies, payment policies, return policies, location policies, all this kind of stuff. You manage all those policies and kind of platform specific settings directly from your sales and

0:33 import channel settings, okay? So settings, sales and import channels, and again, this has been a recurrence in this module where basically all the settings that are related to a specific platform, you come and manage directly from your sales and import channel settings over here, okay?

Managing Platform Locations

0:51 eBay, again, is always a common one that trips people out, so we're going to start and show kind of examples on eBay. So whenever you import, sorry, whenever you connect your eBay or any other platform to ResaleOS, we will check your locations saved on that platform. So for example, on eBay, I sell from two locations, a San Francisco warehouse and a New York warehouse. When I connect eBay to ResaleOS, those two warehouses, those two locations will be

1:23 imported over, okay? Does it make sense? In my case, on eBay, I sell from a San Francisco location, so when I connected eBay, I only imported my San Francisco location. If you have a lot of locations on eBay, those will be imported over on ResaleOS, so that whenever you create a new item, the system asks you which location is this item located in and which location basically do you want it to be

Understanding Platform Policies

1:47 up for sale on, okay? Then we have policies. Let's go over policies, okay? eBay has different types of policies and we manage them from over here. eBay has a shipping policy, a payment policy, and a return policy. Now, whenever you export your items to eBay, we use a default shipping policy, so we ask you, what do you want your default shipping policy to be? And these are my eBay shipping policies, the ones I created on eBay. You can enter whichever shipping policy you want

2:20 to use for eBay, okay? Now, let's say your shipping policy, for example, I use a calculated shipping policy for my parcel items on eBay. What if my item is too big for that? What do I do? And so we ask you, what's your oversized shipping policy? What fallback policy should we use if the item is too big to be shipped with your default calculated shipping policy? How do we specify shipping on eBay? And so you can set a fallback policy, so you can say something like, pick up only if it's too

2:54 big to ship or freight shipping, you know, if it's too big to ship with my calculated shipping policy, okay? Same thing for payment policy, you know, what's your default payment policy that you want to use when exporting items to eBay? What's your default return policy that you want to use when exporting your items to eBay, okay? So, basically, all you have to take away from,

Setting Default Export Policies

3:20 you know, this section of the video is come over here to set your default policies for exporting your items to eBay, so that whenever you export an item from ResaleOS to eBay, these policies will be adopted by default, okay? Now, what if you use policies that are specific to certain items only,

Creating Policy Overrides

3:42 okay? So, for example, you say for all my books, I use a specific shipping policy for books. It's like a flat rate $10 policy, but for all my jewelry, I actually offer free shipping, okay? You can specify those rules in your override rules over here. So, you say something like jewelry, let's see, jewelry, okay? I want all my jewelry, well, sorry, just messed everything up here. Jewelry, let's just do bracelets, okay? For my bracelets, I use whatever calculated shipping

4:24 policy, or I use this cashier shipping, whatever policy, okay? So, you can set an override here. So, for all my bracelets, actually use this shipping policy, and so if I create an override, then this will override my defaults, okay? Now, what if you want to create an override by other specifications, for example, by tags? All my items that have the bags tag, okay? All the items that have this tag, use this specific payment policy, or return policy, or shipping policy,

4:58 okay? You can do that as well, okay? So, for all my items with tag bags, use the specific package information, and use my freight shipping policy, okay? I hope this makes sense, but basically, you create some default policies for eBay, and then if you want, you can create some overrides, okay? Some rules, in case you always use specific policies for specific categories, or specific items that you can tag with a specific keyword, okay? These are your policies. Now, this can get

Platform-Specific Settings and Assistance

5:34 confusing pretty quick. There are a lot of platforms, there is a lot to set up, maybe you've not been an eBay seller previously, so this is all new to you. In those cases, my recommendation is always to schedule a call with our team, just schedule a call with our team, we go over your setup together, and answer your questions, and so you can get started. Each platform has other settings that are specific to that platform, for example, on eBay, you can specify whether

6:04 you want to accept best offers, so you can turn on that setting over here, or you can specify other things like, you know, template descriptions, or all that kind of stuff. So each platform has their own settings. The important thing is that when you connect a sales channel to Reach OS, you come over to the platform settings, and you kind of set up your policies, your default policies, and rules, and all that kind of stuff, okay? That's pretty much it. I hope this is not too confusing. If it is, come over

6:35 here, schedule a demo and help section, you can find demo videos, and you can schedule a call, a video call with our team, where we go over your setup specifically and help you out. This is totally free, and you can do it as many times as you want, for as long as you want, until you're fully clear with how everything works. All right, that's it for now.
