Introduction to Export Features

0:00 All right, so we saw the basics of crosslisting on ResaleOS. Now, for those of you who want a little bit more control over how your items are exported to each

Setting Export Instructions

0:12 platform, here are some useful features. So, let's start with export instructions. So, this is a really nice feature that you have for every single sales channel that you use, okay? So, you have export instructions for eBay, for Etsy, for Craigslist, for all the other sales platforms, okay? Let me show you how it works. Let's do it for eBay now. So, we open the eBay sales channel settings and then under AI instructions, you can set export instructions. So, here you are in the

0:47 export AI instructions and here you can type anything, okay? So, let's say you want your prices to be a little bit higher on eBay than, you know, the other platforms or than what you keep recorded on ResaleOS. Then you can say something like, increase prices by 10% on eBay when exporting. And, you know, it's obvious that these instructions are for eBay items, since we're in the eBay settings, but I'm just going to enter it anyways, okay? Another thing you can enter is

1:21 something like, append this sentence to each item description. For shipping information, contact me, DM me, okay? So, what the system will do, whenever you export an item to eBay, it will interpret and apply these export instructions that you entered over here, okay? So, this is one way to edit your items when they go out to each sales channel and you just enter the export instructions once and that's it. They're always going to be applied, okay? So, you just click on save and we

Demonstrating Export Instructions

2:09 can actually do a demonstration of this. Let's do it, I don't post on this eBay account, so I'm not going to do it for eBay, let's keep doing it for Kashew, okay? So, let's enter instructions here, increase prices by 15% when exporting, okay? Let's do 10% so it's easier to verify that it did it right, okay? So, now, let's close this, let's go back to this item, let's export the item to Kashew again, okay? And we save and the item goes out. So, let's take a look at the price over here

2:51 on Kashew, $5,800, okay? And now, sorry, here on ResaleOS, I meant, and now we go look on Kashew and the item is 6380, so that should be 10% higher than what we have on ResaleOS. Okay, so this is one way to apply export instructions to your items, so you just enter them once in case it's always the same, you know, for all your items being exported to X platform, you're always going to apply the same instructions. That's one way to set, you know, to

3:25 create nuances and differences in your items whenever you get them out to a specific sales channel compared to another one, okay? So, you can have different export instructions for each sales channels, your export instructions on Kashew don't have to be the same as the ones you have on eBay. Awesome, okay, that's export instructions, but what if your edits are not platform-specific,

Item-Specific Edits

3:51 but they're item-specific, like some items you might want to mark up the price or edit a specific field or use a different shipping policy? What if those differences and nuances are applied at an item level, not at a platform level? Okay, we have a solution for that as well. You come over here on the sales channels and then before exporting the item, there is this little eye icon on each sales channel which you can click on to expand the product form for that specific channel, okay?

4:30 What does it mean? Now, it takes a few seconds to load. Now, eBay has some different categories, for example, or different condition mapping or, for example, eBay uses a condition description field, right? So, you might want to enter something here. This field is not available on ResaleOS. We don't have a condition description field. So, if you do want to populate that field on eBay and you want to have control over how your information is exported to eBay, this is the

5:02 place where to come and edit the eBay listing specifically, okay? Does it make sense? This is not something you need to, you know, you need to do if you are not too specific with how you want your listings to be populated across your sales channels, then you don't have to do this. You can just turn on and then the AI system, the AI mapping system that we built will figure everything out themselves. Otherwise, you can manually edit each field for each platform, okay?

5:35 So, these are two ways in which you can, you know, have control, have more control over how your

Field Mapping and Customization

5:44 fields are exported to your sales channels. There is another one. So, before I show you that, I wanted to show you in this other view that we have, the channels view, you have that level of control over here, as well, okay? So, if you want to post on Kashew, this item on Kashew, you can open the Kashew listing directly from this view, as well, okay? You just find the little eye icon over here and you open the listing. So, Kashew, for example, uses different categories, different conditions, it

6:16 uses a designer field, a materials field, so you can set those over here, okay? Now, what if, let's go back to our item, okay? What if condition description is a field that you always use, okay? You always use and you always want to enter it for your items and export to eBay. What do you do? Because we don't have it here by default, condition description is nowhere to be found. So, what you can do is this, you create the field directly in your settings. So, settings, item settings, and then custom product

6:54 fields, okay? I already created a couple one, let's create a new one, we call it condition description and this is a text field, all right? We save it and that's it, we close it, so now if we reload this page and we scroll down to the product meta fields, now we have condition description. Here we enter our condition description, okay? I'm just going to enter some gibberish over here, let's actually enter item in great state shows light signs of use, awesome, okay?

7:38 And we save, we're not going to update it, we're actually going to delist it, okay? So, now you might say, okay, how is this helpful? How is this going to eBay? Well, from the eBay

Creating Custom Fields

7:52 settings, settings, sales and import channels, now under eBay, we can map that field to the eBay field, so now condition description is one of my custom fields, which I can map to condition description on eBay, okay? Now, my condition description goes to eBay as condition description, so if I save, now every time I export my items, first of all, every time I create my items on ResaleOS, I'm going to have this new condition description field and every time I export the item to eBay,

8:30 this is going to be sent to eBay as their condition description field. I hope this makes sense, okay?

Summary and Key Takeaways

8:37 The main takeaway from this video is that on ResaleOS, you can customize the way your product information is sent to each platform by editing it on each product or by creating export instructions and custom fields on ResaleOS. I hope this makes sense. Sorry for being long and we're going to move on to the next videos in this module.
