1970 NP Northern Pacific Railroad note pad with calendar
Description
The Northern Pacific Railroad (NP) was a major US railroad that served the north-central and north-western portions of the country, with a small amount of trackage into Canada. It had trackage in Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin in the US, plus Manitoba and British Columbia in Canada. The NP operated several famous "named" trains, to include the North Coast Limited (between Chicago and Seattle), and the Mainstreeter. The NP merged with three other railroads in 1970 to form the Burlington Northern and ceased to exist as a corporate entity.
For auction is a Note Pad from the NP. The front cover has a calendar for the year 1970, and the cover inside has a 1971 calendar. There are 30 blank pages inside for note-taking. The pad measures appx 5 x 2 1/2 inches. The front and back covers are a medium-weight cardstock, and the content pages are lower-grade paperstock. This item is in very good condition; there are no rips or tears, no writing, and the binding is secure with all pages firmly in place. No note pages have been removed.
A nice collectible item for the NP railfan.
