Jim Cummms teaches courses related to language learning and critical pedagogy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto His current research focuses on the challenges educators face in adjustmg to classrooms where cultural and linguistic diversity is the norm Together with Dennis Sayers, he has recentíy published a book on the computer-mediated global learning networks entitled Brave New Schools ChaUenging Cuuural Illiteracy through Global Learning Networks He is also a co-author of an ESL program, ScottForesman ESL Accelerating English Langaage Learning ScottForesman, 1996
