Johnson Brothers was a British pottery manufacturer founded in 1883 by Alfred, Frederick, and George Johnson in Stoke-on-Trent, England. They became renowned for producing high-quality, affordable earthenware, particularly their transfer-printed designs which were popular for everyday use and collectible display. The company was eventually acquired by Wedgwood in 1968.

The 'Ningpo' pattern, part of their Old Staffordshire line, is characterized by its Chinoiserie-inspired floral designs and decorative border. This pattern was produced for many years, making it relatively common but still sought after by collectors who appreciate its aesthetic appeal and historical connection to English pottery traditions. The use of transfer printing combined with hand-finishing allowed for intricate designs to be reproduced efficiently. 1170
