A striking antique ewer/pitcher in cobalt blue cut-to-clear crystal, mounted in ornate gilt bronze (ormolu). The cobalt overlay is cut through in a repeating diamond/prism pattern to reveal the clear crystal beneath — a hallmark of 19th century Bohemian glasswork. The piece features a scrolling gilt foliate handle, a brass floral-banded collar at the neck, and gilt scroll-and-paw feet at the base. A lovely decorative accent piece in the French/Continental taste, suitable as a display vase, small decanter, or vanity ewer. Minor wear to gilt finish consistent with age. Measures approximately 9–10” tall (please confirm exact measurement before listing). This piece tilt in its base slightly and the stopper is not original to it. We did a close match, but not quite close enough. We’re looking to find one that fits better.
