The process involves firing the clay at high temperatures to achieve a durable and non-porous body. 

Wedgwood's Jasperware became highly popular for its neoclassical designs, often depicting scenes from Greek and Roman mythology. The lilac color, as seen in this heart-shaped box, is one of the many colors Wedgwood developed to enhance the appeal of its Jasperware. These boxes were often used as trinket boxes or decorative items, and they remain highly collectible today.
