ANTIQUE DRESDEN HAND-PAINTED FLORAL CABINET PLATES – SIGNED DORN – MATCHED SET OF FIVE – GILT GERMAN PORCELAIN – c. 1890-1910
Offered is a beautiful matched set of five antique Dresden hand-painted porcelain cabinet plates dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian era, circa 1890-1910.
Each plate measures approximately 8 7/8 inches in diameter and is decorated with an elegant hand-painted floral bouquet in shades of pink, peach, rose, burgundy, and cream. The artwork is enhanced with extensive raised and burnished gold decoration, including richly gilded scalloped rims and ornate gilt scrollwork.
All five plates are signed "Dorn" in red by the decorating artist and bear the same blue crowned "D" Dresden mark along with a matching gilt decorator's emblem on the reverse, confirming the set was produced and decorated as a coordinated group.
The quality of the hand painting is exceptional, with visible brushwork, layered petals, fine shading, and individually rendered floral details characteristic of the better Dresden decorating studios of the period.
