This beautiful Churchill England teapot features a unique, vibrant blue transferware design that blends classic florals with modern geometric patterns like checkerboards and polka dots. A sturdy, high-quality earthenware piece that is perfect for daily use or as a standout addition to a blue and white china collection. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Approximately 7" tall (with lid) and 10.5" wide from to handle.

The Pattern: This pattern is officially titled "Out of the Blue" by Churchill. It was a very popular contemporary line that updated traditional English blue-and-white transferware with a "mix-and-match" bohemian feel.

The Designer: While not always credited, this specific line was inspired by the work of Mary Gilliatt, a well-known British interior designer. Her goal was to create pieces that looked like a curated collection of different antique patterns (the checkerboard, the polka dots, and the florals) rather than one matching set.

The "Pristine" Factor: Since production ended in 2003, finding pieces in the condition this one is in—with no staining or crazing—is becoming harder for collectors. Many of these teapots were sold at high-end department stores or through the Churchill factory in Staffordshire.
