LECA (lightweight expanded clay aggregate) is the ultimate lightweight drainage material that’s good for your plants and your glassware. These are low-density, high-strength, absorbent clay balls make an ideal foundation for your terrarium. Just soak to prep your LECA by submerging for 24 hrs. You're welcome to double submerge if you choose. This batch has been triple rinsed in a colander and storage bin; then allowed to sun dry for 8 hrs. LECA is able to reliably support your layers and buffer any overwatering mishaps if your container grows with or without drainage. If a white cast(minerals) accumulates on the leca, rinse thoroughly in warm to hot water.
