OC's Finest: Where Timeless Quality Meets Modern Living
The Item: Set of 8 Antique EAPG Flint Glass Compotes
We are pleased to offer this absolutely exquisite and rare set of eight (8) footed low compotes in the highly collectible Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG). This set is a stunning representation of mid-19th century American glass artistry.
The condition of this set is Exceptional and Collector-Grade, which is extremely rare for Flint Glass of this age (approximately 160+ years old).
• Pristine Condition: The clarity of the glass is excellent with no cloudiness, discoloration, or etching/frosting that is common with age.
• Flaws Noted: None. We found no chips, cracks, repairs, or significant rim or foot roughness on any of the 8 pieces.
• Manufacturing Imperfections: As is customary for 19th-century pressed glass, you may find slight imperfections within the glass (such as tiny air bubbles or straw marks) which authenticate its antique origin.
The Waffle & Thumbprint Pattern
This pattern is a prized example of Early American Pressed Glass. The design features a bold grid of waffle or diamond patterns juxtaposed with oval thumbprint indentations, which beautifully refract light. As these are Flint Glass pieces, they predate the shift to cheaper soda-lime glass, ensuring superior quality and clarity.
