This stunning matched pair of cabinets are in the floor chest style. They are ideal for helping to define a large space into different functional sections.Made by the distinguished furniture artisanal furniture maker, Artes de Mexico Internacionales, during the mid 1960s. Hand made with Moorish 8-pointed star deep carved coffers with heavy iron hardware knobs. They should be placed in the middle of a floor because otherwise half of the décor would be hidden up against a wall. The carved coffers are identical -- four on each long side, and one on each shorter side for the depth. On one of the long sides, the coffers are doors that open so that the cabinets can be used for storage. They are of seat height. With cushions on top, they could serve as seating benches. Without cushions, they can serve as low tables. They also could be stacked, one on top of the other. Each is 72 wide, 22 deep, 20 high. See
