These stunning reimagined, finely crafted Mid 20th Century Chateau d"Ax fauteuils from Milan are dedicated to Mexico's tragic last empress, Carlota, née Charlotte of Belgium. The chairs are probably from a decade or two after the reign of Maximiliano and Carlota, but are in a style familiar to them and their court. I reupholstered them with Otomi hand embroidery from Mexico with gorgeous new cognac leather on the seats and back. I obtain Otomi embroideries from the only authentic source, the women of the mountain rain forest town of Tenango de Doria in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Each hand embroidered piece is a unique work of art.reupholstered in my workshop with Otomi hand embroidery and new cognac leather. Stunning and elegant accent pieces. Note: The color of the leather on both chairs is identical. The photo does not quite capture that. Also, while some of the photos show "gimp" trim on one of the chairs, now both chairs have yellow velvet piping instead of gimp. See
