These extraordinary chairs resemble labeled Baker Furniture Company pieces I have from the 1910s or 1920s, and they also resemble pieces by the Grand Rapids Chair Company, which was acquired by Baker. The construction and superb quality are indicative of furniture made in Grand Rapids during the 10s and 20s. The Lucia Landa Upholstery shop has replaced the cushions, retied the springs, and reupholstered with new Kravet fabric. The number etched into the stretcher between the chair legs is typical of 1920s Grand Rapids furniture. See
