This is a piece to collect and enjoy. Gustav Stickley’s brothers Leopold and John George made Windsor chairs among other popular styles in addition to their famed Arts and Crafts pieces. This handsome Windsor lounge chair was made in Grand Rapids during the 1920s. I restored the original seat and back cushions with Italian “pull-up” leather and a striped fabric. This chair with its classic spindles is a beautiful sight without the back cushion, comfortable with or without it.I acquired the chair from the estate of a retiree from the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. The company presented this chair to the person upon retirement, hence the SWBT label. See
