Artisanal natural woolen tapestry by the Zapotec women of Oaxaca upholsters the seat of this rustic carved wooden bench from Mexico. The piece is carved from solid blocks of sturdy Sabino pine. The cracks in the wood are natural and do not affect the sturdiness.Like most Mexicans, I am descended from both indigenous people of our beautiful country -- in my case probably Aztecs or Tlaxcalans -- and Spanish colonists. I envision some of the most beautiful expressions of Mexican aesthetics as combinations of the amazing beauty of traditional Native American and Spanish craftsmanship. See
