A beautiful, rare find from the 1940s. The trademark label on this piece was introduced by the Baker Furniture Company in 1940 and used for a decade. Fine condition. Patina on the reconditioned leather, but no holes or tears.Siebe Baker, an immigrant from the Netherlands, founded an interior woodwork and door company in 1890 in Allegan, MI, just west of Grand Rapids. At the end of the 1920s, the company moved to Grand Rapids. Under the stewardship of his Siebe's son Hollis Baker and their descendants, the company gained world renown for excellence in design and craftsmanship. See
