Original antique photograph showing a group of beachgoers and children posed in shallow water beside an “ATLANTIC CITY LIFE BOAT” at the shore. The scene includes early bathing costumes, sailor-style collars, children in period swimwear, and a lifeboat with readable lettering along the side.
Approx. 6 x 4 inches. The photograph is mounted on dark album board/card.
Based on the clothing, lifeboat style, and photographic surface, this appears to date to approximately c.1905–1915, likely around c.1910. The image appears to be an original silver-based photographic print rather than a modern printed reproduction. There is visible age-related silver mirroring / metallic shimmer in the darker areas, especially near the bottom of the boat and water reflection, which is typical of old silver photographs.
Condition: Antique condition with age toning, surface wear, scattered spots/marks, fading, silvering in darker areas, and wear to the mount/edges. Please review photos carefully for exact condition. Sold as found.
A nice early Atlantic City, New Jersey beach image with lifeboat, Edwardian-era bathing costumes, and strong seaside/resort interest.
