Ceramic granary jar (mingqi) dating to the Eastern Han dynasty, 25–220 CE. This type of vessel was created as tomb pottery to provide for the deceased in the afterlife. The jar is cylindrical in form with incised horizontal bands and stands on three molded supports. It is covered in a low-fired green lead-based glaze typical of Han burial wares.The broad, domed lid is present, a feature often missing on comparable examples. Surface wear, glaze loss, and encrustation consistent with age and burial are visible throughout.Han dynasty mingqi objects remain of interest to collectors of early Chinese ceramics and funerary art.

All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
