This vintage, Victorian Revival cameo brooch is crafted from 800 silver and features a hand-carved shell cameo of the Three Graces. The Three Graces were a popular theme used in Victorian Revival pieces, because they embodied timeless ideals of beauty, joy, charity, and artistic inspiration, as well as the era's fascination with antiquity. They were a familiar motif, linking personal adornment (cameos) and decorative arts to high culture and moral refinement, representing harmony, good fortune, and feminine charm.

This cameo has been well maintained and offers the the wearer the versatility of being worn as a brooch OR as a pendant suspended on a chain, due to the double mounting on the back. The overall dimensions of the cameo, bezel set in a decorative 800-silver framed setting, measure 1.50" in length and 1.20" in width. The piece is secured with a rollover pin clasp.

The cameo displays no damage and is considered to be in excellent-vintage condition. As expected, the silver displays the aged patina of vintage silver. #A
