This teardrop shaped pendant features an ornately carved 14 karat yellow gold Birds of Paradise overlay design with intertwined vines, leaves and palms, the sun, and other detailed carvings. To add dimension the overlay was designed with a two-tone bright polish finish and textured matte finish. The pendant originally retailed for $1785.

The overlay is placed over a 60 carat ~1.625"(h)  x 1.25"(w) pear-shaped smoky quartz stone that is beautifully mounted in a 14 karat yellow gold bezel setting. Overall the dimensions of the pendant are 2" in length with the bail, 1.25" in width and .25" in depth. 

At first glance, the overlay looks to be over a very dark stone, similar to a black onyx. You get a better view of the color by looking at the back with a light shining through the stone. The reflections from the gold overlay makes the contrast much more striking from the front. This is truly a beautiful piece of art as well as a lovely piece of jewelry. #90 #A
