Item: Antique 19th Century Anglo-Irish Cut Lead Crystal Ship's DecanterHistorical Description:This is a beautiful, authentic 19th-century (c. 1820–1880) hand-blown lead crystal ship's decanter. It features a classic wide-bottomed "Mallet" or "Rodney" shape, specifically engineered with a wide 10-inch diameter to maintain stability and lower the center of gravity on a moving ship. The neck is adorned with fpur thick, applied annular rings designed historically to provide a secure grip when pouring.

The base features a classic ground and polished pontil mark, proving its hand-blown artisan origin. The original target/disc stopper features a deeply incised starburst (sunburst) pattern on the flat top.

(Please Read Before Bidding):This decanter is being sold exactly as found in "as-is" antique condition:The Base: Excellent structural condition. No chips, cracks, or fleabites on the body. The underside of the base rim exhibits heavy, authentic "galleon wear" (random, overlapping scratches) consistent with nearly two centuries of genuine use.The Stopper: There is a noticeable chip on the bottom edge/rim of the stopper's ground peg (see close-up photo). The stopper still seats completely securely into the neck and displays beautifully, but the damage is present.Interior Glass: There is faint, typical mineral haze/clouding ("sick glass") inside the bottom of the base from historical liquids. We have not attempted to chemically clean this.Please review all high-resolution photos carefully as they form part of the visual description.
