Up for sale is a rare, matching lot of 3 antique late-Victorian / Eastlake handrail brackets. This heavy-duty set was carefully salvaged from a historic estate barn built circa 1890 in the affluent town of Wellesley, Massachusetts. These pieces showcase the incredible craftsmanship of New England’s industrial golden age, featuring crisp, stylized geometric reliefs and scrolling floral accents molded into the cast iron.Unlike most incomplete antique listings, this set completely retains its rare, matching U-shaped top clamp straps. These straps bridge over the top of a cylindrical wooden banister or metal pipe rail, screwing directly into the bracket tips to lock the rail securely into place. This is a magnificent matching set for an industrial loft, historic home staircase renovation, or high-end barn restoration project.Condition:Excellent historic salvage condition. They feature an authentic, undisturbed 130+ year weathered patina with beautiful deep coloration and light surface rust that emphasizes the crispness of the iron mold. The cast iron is structurally sound, rock-solid, and free of any cracks, breaks, or welds. Sold exactly as found.
Note, only 2 screws are it out intact, I do have some matching brass flat head screws from that period I am throwing in but only 2 of the 15 screws actually came out with the brackets.
