1960s mid-century X-large Italian hammered brass bulbous table lamp with rich chocolate-toned upholstered drum-shaped jumbo lampshade. The lamp's body appears to be made from a single brass metal and has a texured hammered appearance. It has an aging bronze tone overall and shows a natural and rich patina. light reflects off the metal oh so nicely without it being too shiny. A slender single-pole stem extends from the top of the urn-like brass body and culminates with two lamps that are attached by reticulating arms that allow them to be adjusted at an upward or downward angle. They each have dangling chains that independently control each lamp, with the capacity to be toggled to a maximum of 3 levels of luminous intensity. There is an on/off thumb rolling switch that turns both lamps on/off simultaneously, located about 5 inches from the base on the 92" long electric cord. The lighting level will illuminate according to the setting of its last time used.This mid-century lamp was made and imported from Italy as it is labeled on the inner balance rod. The 23" wide x 17" tall drum-style lamp shade is covered in a polished burlap-like textile in a sumptuously rich chocolate tone and is lined in a gold reflective foil-type of cardboard. Finally, one of its most appealing features is its blackout diffuser that is covered by the same textile and line in the same gold reflective material as the main shade. It is extremely well-made and is very unusual. Based on its size and its texture its a real head turner and perfectly suited to this gem of a lamp.The body of the lamp is 13" wide x 42" tall to the finial.The lampshade is 23" wide x 17" tall.
