A rare vintage cast monumental faux stone coffee table with glass rectangular top. The table features a clear glass beveled edged top inlaid and surrounded and framed that sits over carved apron sides rising on square straight columnar legs. The entire piece is designed with an elaborate carved and sculpted beige faux stone that has scrolling vines and acanthus leaves and floral motif. The style might be compared to the same used in magnificent carved wooden frames. Although there are no visible maker’s mark discoverable attribution belongs to the style of George Zee & Co., Kiln Dried Art Carved Furniture Manufacturers of Kowloon, Hong Kong. This company was known for exquisite carved wood furniture that serves as its inspiration. (circa 1970s)Although it is almost as heavy as stone and looks like wood, it's material is synthetic and is similar in weight to that which is used for modern faux stone works like fireplace mantles, outdoor benches or the same as used in fountain statuary.This extraordinary unique table has few peers, if any, that provide comparison.
