An unusual and likely one of a kind cast bas relief cement bust of a shy maiden depicted in a demure pose with tilted shrouded head. She bares a resemblance to the figures and drawings created by Art Deco artist French Russian artist Erté. She appears to have been part of a larger statue or building relief that may have broken off of a larger installation. While the front side of the architectural remnant is fine in detail and deliberate in its structure the rear portion of the piece is chaotic and shows how its base structure was built over stacked cement cinder block. the rear portion was not meant to be seen. It was likely assumed by its maker that it would remain as permanent structure like the wall that it was built upon. This extraordinary architectural remnant from a relief bas is rare and one of a kind. It has been used in the garden as a decorative ornament but can be used indoors on a pedestal or on the right wall shelf or ledge..note: item is compact but very heavy weighing at least 85 pounds.
