A cast bronze effigy of a mythological mermaid. It is signed "Harriet", near the bottom of the figurine, in a replica of the original sculpture. The stunning, goddess-like figure is posed kneeling on her nicely detailed fish tail, which is tinted in a faint green tone, creating an induced patina. The skin tones are stained with a brown patina finish, enhancing the sculpture's visual depth and providing a protective layer for long-lasting preservation. The mermaid's arms are raised, her breasts uncovered without shyness as she delicately rearranges her long hair, which flows in complete obedience to the water's gentle currents. With a knitted brow, she beckons the observer into the mysticism of her underwater kingdom, evoking the allure and magic of the sea. She sits on a 5" round puddled black marble plinth. Lastly, the decorative model is made in the style of the Art Nouveau movement and is suited for most any motif and appreciated in most any room in which she sits.
