A large textured urn shaped vessel/vase. The terracotta pottery has a basecoat of black paint with a textured aqua/turquoise overlay that appears almost like a veil or as if spun fiberglass. A bouquet of flowers and leaves in an expressionist style inspired likely by the masterpiece influences derived from the works of artists Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and perhaps Paul Gauguin. The latter chosen due to the tropical flowers which appears to be a hibiscus and anthuriums often found in the artists Polynesian environments of Tahiti. Chosen to be focus in the botanical incision created in a bold graphic style surface sculpting. The terracotta vase form is simple which allows the focus to remain on the floral surface incised sculpture. The vase/urn can be just as engaging when displayed alone as it might with a flower display of stems or an arrangement.
