This antique serving platter was produced by the Carl Tielsch porcelain factory in Altwasser, Germany, between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Identified by the dark green "C.T. Germany" backstamp, this piece is a refined example of the fine bone china and craftsmanship for which the Silesian foundry was renowned. The platter features a sophisticated Art Nouveau-inspired silhouette with ornate integrated handles and a gold-rimmed scalloped edge.
The interior is decorated with delicate hand-painted floral patterns, predominantly pink roses and verdant foliage, set against a soft white ground. The composition is accented by sections of pastel green and blue along the rim, providing a gentle color contrast to the central bouquet. The underside bears the maker's mark alongside red handwritten production numbers "20339" and "71," as well as embossed "D D" lettering, characteristic of high-quality period porcelain.
This 12.5-inch platter serves as a substantial centerpiece for formal table service or as a primary display piece for a collection of European porcelain. Its historical provenance and elegant floral palette make it a versatile styling element for traditional or Grandmillennial interiors. The piece is in excellent antique condition, exhibiting only light, age-appropriate wear to the gold gilding consistent with its history.
