This ornate silver heart brooch pin from the Arts and Crafts era 1905-1915 features a large natural heart shaped Mexican opal as the center of this stunning piece of history. Handmade with a heart-shaped design, this antique piece exudes vintage charm and sophistication. Crafted with silver, it showcases intricate detailing on both the front and back of the brooch and a timeless elegance that makes it a unique and original accessory for any jewelry enthusiast. As shown, weighs a little over 29 grams.
I had this piece reviewed by a fine jewelry expert/appraiser/GIA Gemologist and was given this information, so you can feel confident in the quality and craftsmanship of this antique one-of-a-kind stunning piece. They felt that this could possibly be a part of a chatelain due to the open hook at the top of the piece, which gives it some really unique background history as well.
There are a few small chips in the opal, but it is a beautiful, Mexican opal features some natural inclusions in the arts and crafts era. They didn't remove natural inclusions because they thought that was part of the natural beauty of the stone.
The pin is more modern than the rest of the piece and was likely replaced at some point in time. Natural patina for an antique treasure. Would not remove as to preserve history!
I cannot find anything like this online after hours of research. This is truly an incredible piece of jewelry!!
