Standing at nearly 12 inches tall (30 cm), this XL golf trophy is a significant and technically impressive example of David Marshall’s Brutalist mastery. Unlike his standard commercial awards, this "Sculptural Series" piece features delicate, long-shafted brass golf clubs integrated into a split-rim goblet—a casting feat that demonstrates the pinnacle of his "Marriage of Metals" technique.
Artistry & High-Tier Provenance
• The Design: A bold, gold-toned brass vessel rises from a massive, sloped square base of sand-cast aluminum. It perfectly captures Marshall’s signature aesthetic: the tension between polished, refined curves and the rugged, "cratered" industrial textures of the raw metal.
• The Provenance: This piece bears both the cast "dm" workshop glyph and the original "Joyeria Olivares Regalos Malaga" label on the reverse. This indicates it was part of a high-tier production run for an elite Spanish boutique, marking it as a superior specimen for collectors.
• The Scale: At 11.6" (29.5 cm), this is a commanding work of art, designed for a prominent place in an executive office, luxury clubhouse, or a sophisticated mid-century library.
A Connoisseur's Gift
This isn't just a trophy; it is a work of Functional Art. It offers a singular gift for the golf collector who appreciates the "human hand" in industrial design and the raw elegance of Spanish Brutalism. Ideal for a gallery display for an executive suite, home office / library, living room or entry way.

David Marshall
David Marshall (b. 1942) is a Scottish-born sculptor and designer who has become one of the most recognizable figures in Spanish Brutalist metalwork. Though he was born in Edinburgh, his artistic identity is inextricably linked to the mountains of southern Spain, where he has lived and worked for over 50 years. Over the decades, Marshall expanded his reach globally, studying traditional carving and welding techniques in Thailand, Java, Bali, and Rajasthan. His work moved from pure sculpture into functional art, including mirrors, furniture, high-end trophies and a notable body of bespoke trophies and awards for private clients and clubs. His pieces remain staples of mid-century modern and contemporary design galleries in New York, London, Madrid, in the Rocky Mountains of Clark, Colorado, valued for their rugged elegance and the distinct "human hand" evident in every casting.
