Encaustic Painting from Rex Ray (1956-2015). This original work is composed in layered encaustic with a vertical, drip-like pattern that builds a tactile field of raised forms across the panel. A restrained palette of ivory, cream, and pale sand is punctuated by glimpses of the underlying brown ground, creating depth through contrast and repetition. The wax medium leaves subtle ridges, edge lines, and tonal shifts that emphasize the hand-built texture throughout the surface. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage.
