The 16th century ornament depicted a figure walking with staff, a barrel, and a squirrel that was likely made of silver or precious metals that was used in elite dining settings. The illustration of this intricate service piece dates to the 1800's, and appeared in "The Arts in the Middle Ages and Period of the Renaissance" published by Paul Lacroix.
