Original Oil on Board Painting by Jaggu Prasad. The artwork is a very realistic depiction of tending to livestock on a rural homestead. Numerous healthy cows and the calves are surrounding their thatch roofed barn with the homestead of the farmers in the background. You get a glimpse of them with one woman in the background assisting a young calf and a lone gentlemen in the far back left with a cane in hand. The detail is extraordinary and the scenery placing you in their field on a hazy day as the sun is settling down to evening. The artist has signed the piece on the lower left side and its immaculately framed in a double black matte border with golden beveled edges. It is in good condition. About the Artist:Jaggu Prasad (b. 1963) was born at one of the greatest artistic centers in India - Rajastan. For several years Rajastan has always been a center for the arts and it has been home for the brightest artisans who produce superb miniatures in carvings and paintings. His education consists of a High School certificate, followed by training by Kirpal Padamshree Singh in traditional Indian wildlife, botanical, and nature paintings. The artist has been working on art since the age of 6. And since he became a freelance artist, Prasad has compelled many corporate, private and public commissions in botanical illustrations and art from the 1980's to the 1990's in Australia, India, Germany, Singapore, the United States and France. His works of art were included in the 7th International Exhibition of Botanical Art and Illustration organized by Hunt Institute. Prasad has also participated in many group exhibitions organized by the Rajastan’s Academy Art Council. His preferred media are watercolor, gouache, and oils. He employs these to paint his favorite subjects of vegetables, flowers, and fruits. He’s fascinated by the European trompe-l'oeil technique and he tries to incorporate it in his work. Prasad’s meticulous attention to detail and superb use of color, combined with an almost respectful fragility is evident in all his works. He does all his paintings on fine linen glued and pressed onto primed board. Each of his miniature paintings is a lovely expression of his ever growing talent and love. The artist devotes himself to faithfully recording the wonders of nature. See
