Superb antique baby carrier from the Bahau Dayak people of Borneo, Indonesia. Estimated to be from early 1900’s. Colorful detailed glass bead work depicting mother goddess with scrolling tendrils. Hand woven rattan grass basket with two shoulder straps. Sturdy wood base. Attached are tiger canines and boar tusks used to symbolize protection of the precious cargo. Signs of age and use but in very good condition for its age.
