Original vintage Dinka headrest from Sudan. These headrests are considered status symbols among the herders and are used as portable pillows which are hand carved from the fork of a tree. The knobs on each end are used to hold a tie or rope or fabric and for carrying. Stylized modern design shape with vertical supports into abstract legs. Beautiful aged and worn patina with signs of use and age.
