Rare old helmet mask from the Kuba Kete People of Democratic Republic of Congo. Traditional geometric pigment patterns around the neck and up across the cheeks. Rounded head shape with crescent arch and holes for feather ceremonial head dress still partially intact. The triangle painted shape on the forehead balances the opposite triangle nose shape with protruding mouth and large shell shaped slit eyes. Signs of age and use but in good condition. Displayed on removable iron stand .
