Authentic vintage Nafana Bedu plank mask with original aged white, red, and black painted finish. Bedu plank masks are among the largest masks in African art. The form represents a mythical buffalo-like animal that plays an important role in the new year's celebration for the Senufo people Ghana. The Bedu celebrations are focused on the winter solstice celebrations called Zaurau. Geometric patterns decorate these masks and have holes for wearer to see out. Despite the large size these are made of lighter wood and can be easily mounted on the wall as unique art.
