Original Fire Spitter Helmet mask from the Senufo people. Hand painted with powerful red, black and white polka dots makes a striking impressive mask. Chameleon figure stretched downward on top of the head between the horns. This type of animal form mask was worn of top of the head horizontally and used by the male society in ceremonies to ward off evil witchcraft spirits and called Kponungo which were thought to combat supernatural forces and in turn protect the well-being of the community.
