Original vintage carved wood Senufo Kpelie mask from Western Africa. Figurative sculptural piece with aged dark finish. Small but ornate with detailed meaningful hand carved features. Legs on either side of the chin represent the connection of the spirit to the earth. The figure on top of the head, a small female figure holding a bowl in front of her belly, represents an ancestor connected to the particular society's origin.
