Rare vintage late 1930s lace ensemble consisting of a full-length unlined lace dress, matching cropped jacket, and original coordinating belt. Rendered in a soft butter yellow lace with dramatic oversized collar, fitted waist, puffed leg o' mutton sleeves, and sweeping bias cut skirt.
The matching jacket features sculptural lapels, original fabric-covered button closure, and snap cuffs. The coordinating belt retains its original snap closures. All three pieces remain together and wearable, a rarity for garments of this era.
The silhouette is quintessential late 1930s glamour, bridging the romantic lines of the decade with the streamlined elegance that would carry into the early 1940s. Beautiful for collection, study, display, costume, theatrical use, or carefully worn vintage fashion.
Unlabeled.
Very good antique condition for age. Wear consistent with a garment approaching 90 years old, including minor age-related thread loss and scattered small areas of wear visible upon close inspection. Original closures remain present and functional, however there is a stain on the jacket button and stains on the cuff and below the elbow of one jacket sleeve. Belt loops remain intact. Dress has no closures, slips on. No structural damage noted.
