Up for auction is a vintage "Photoplay" edition of "The Greene Murder Case" by S.S. Van Dine, featuring the famous detective Philo Vance. This specific edition was released to promote the 1929 Paramount Photoplay film starring William Powell.
Illustrated:
Contains original glossy black-and-white stills from the Paramount motion picture.
Original Dust Jacket:
Features the striking "Police File" graphic on the front and William Powell as Philo Vance on the reverse/spine.
Historical Significance:
One of the quintessential "locked room" style mysteries of the 1920s.

Present, but shows some wear. There are chips, tears, and some loss at the spine and edges. It has been preserved in its original state (see photos).
