Vintage Collection of 5 English Horse Brasses – Classic British Harness Decor

Up for sale is a charming set of five vintage horse brasses (also known as horse medallions or harness brasses).

These decorative brass plaques were traditionally hung on the harnesses of working horses in Britain for parades, shows, and special occasions. They also served as good-luck talismans.

This attractive mixed set features popular traditional motifs and includes:

-Welsh Dragon (clearly marked “WALES” on the front) – the iconic national symbol of Wales
-Lion inside a horseshoe frame – a classic combination of strength and good luck
-Prancing/galloping horse in a decorative scalloped frame
-Pheasant (or game bird) perched on a branch in an ornate frame
-Horse head design within concentric circles and horseshoe-style outer frame

All pieces show nice aged patina with natural wear consistent with their age. Several have the “ENGLAND” stamp/mark on the hanger/loop, confirming they were made in England.

These appear to be mid-20th century decorative/souvenir-style brasses in the traditional Victorian/Edwardian design tradition – very collectible and great for display.
