This Model H-11 is made from solid wild black cherry, showcasing the rich, dense grain and superior finish for which the Winchester, Virginia, maker is known. The chest features a lift-top lid with an inset interior mirror, revealing an upper gallery lined in the original, vibrant saffron velvet. The interior is organized with multiple divided compartments for rings, watches, and fine jewelry. Below, a full-width drawer provides additional divided storage for larger statement pieces. True to the Henkel Harris commitment to 18th-century cabinetmaking standards, the chest is finished with an architectural ogee bracket base, solid brass side-mounted bail handles, and delicate brass escutcheons. Both original working keys are included. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The solid cherry wood retains a deep, lustrous patina with only negligible signs of wear.
