Ex Machina comic books, an Eisner Award-winning series published by WildStorm, a DC Comics imprint. The series was created by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Tony Harris. The series centers on Mitchell Hundred, a former civil engineer who becomes the world's first and only superhero, known as "The Great Machine". After preventing the second Twin Tower from falling during the 9/11 attacks, Hundred retires from superhero work and is elected Mayor of New York City. The story explores political and social issues during his term, interwoven with flashbacks to his past as a superhero.
