Written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant with iconic art by Simon Bisley, the series is a darkly humorous, ultra-violent satire. It follows the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo as he is killed and forced to navigate a bureaucratic afterlife.

Issue #2 (Top): After rampaging through both Heaven and Hell, Lobo is reincarnated as a woman in the year 1940 as a trick by the afterlife authorities.

Issue #3 (Bottom Left): Lobo, still in his female form during World War II, is killed again and reincarnated as a squirrel.

Issue #4 (Bottom Right): Lobo declares a one-man war against Heaven, eventually regaining his original body and returning to the living world to take revenge on Loo.
