The story follows Jane Foster (the current Valkyrie) as she attempts to rebuild the ancient order of Valkyries to fight the symbiotic god Knull and his army. She starts by recruiting Asgardian warrior Hildegarde and X-Man Dani Moonstar, discovering in the process that she was never the only Valkyrie after all, and must find a mysterious fourth warrior.
